I imagine that this is as simple as skate hut joining tesco's direct service, supplying them an export of products and having some software on their server that will accept orders from tesco's if someone buys something. Nothing more sinister than that. Wouldn't surprise me if any skate shop with the right plugin on their online shop could do the same.

As BDF says, this is a first step towards Amazon Marketplace style trading for Tesco's. Those distributors would have nothing to do with this as it is a deal done at retail level not distribution level. Skatehut would have struck a deal with Tesco (With more to follow, perhaps?).

Expect to see all and sundry on there in the future a la Amazon - and not entirely because UK shops like Skatehut will even bother doing a deal...but some weird Euro distributor who will offer free shipping from overseas will come along or worse, a non-skate related company who has swept up a ton of liquidated stock from 'proper' skate shops who have gone under (This is a particular problem on Amazon Marketplace for brands).

Regardless - the same rule as ever applies. Spend your money on those who you feel are doing something worth supporting. If we all stick to that with every penny we spend, it might just help.

    ...and with that bullshit aside...

As Mush pretty much said...I can't wait for the letters of complaint to begin to roll in when little Johnnys Mum comes across Heroin in Tesco.
Thanks. This is correct, I have had offers from Supermarkets but have never dealt with them. Can you imagine their faces on Dragons Den if I ever go on there and have to tell them this!

All gone a bit Keyser Soze, there is nothing on the link apart from cheap shitty Chinese completes. Even the Heroin Wheels link only has a stock photo left and no stock/seller. Somebody doesn't like bad PR.

Skatehut was formed in 2007 as a small family business following a holiday to the USA. The MD has three sons and when his eldest spotted a pair of Heelys in one of the theme parks he decided he had to have a pair!
When they got home they found Heelys were very difficult to get hold of in the UK. They decided only thing to do was to start selling them themselves. Within a few months there were over a thousand pairs in their house!
From there we have steadily increased our product range to include Skateboards, Scooters, Skates and much more. We now have over 2000 product lines in stock and more on the way! With all of these products in stock we needed space to hold them all, which we now have with our two warehouses and an amazing 5000 Sq. Ft shop.
We always listen to our customers and add new brands and products every day. We have a great team of people in our warehouse, office and shop to help get these products to you, our customers. There are plenty of plans for the future so be sure to check out our Facebook, YouTube and Twitter pages for all the latest news.
A big thank you to all the customers that have used and continue to use Skatehut for purchasing the very best skate related products!
