    Default RIP Chrome Ball

Some of you may have seen this already but Chops will cease updating Chrome Ball on 12/07.

I for one am really gutted as I've spent countless hours on there reminiscing, but I can't do anything other than giving him maximum proppage for the countless hours/days/months he's spent scanning that stuff.

It truly is the end of an era.

Hope so! Is there an easy way to save every picture that's on a blog?

To be fair there's only a finite number of ads/interviews and he was mining an ever decreasing reservoir of content. I can't imagine he'd ever take it down as it really is a monument to the history of skateboarding.

It got me thinking how sick it would be for someone with enough time/mags to do a uk version. Obviously there's When We Was Rad, but it would be good if there was a site that encompassed all of the publications like Skateboard!, Skate Action, Phat etc. I wonder if there is any archivists on here that would fancy the task?

That was kind of my aim when I started this blog. A bit different, only one pic or vid per post, but a list of skaters on the right and some of their best coverage in different posts. It wasn't really about the 90s, more about more recent British skateboarding. I liked doing it but started working longer shifts around a year ago and just didn't have enough time to keep on updating it regularly.

If you dig deep enough, this forum already has a ridiculous amount of that content already. Can you imagine how much random content has been posted on here over the years, like page spreads, interviews, classic shots, covers, ads, skate sections etc in random threads over these years? If there was a way of using a magic internet hoover to suck out nothing but all the rad shit out of the forum into an organised, easily navigable website, it would be the best thing ever.

For now though, using site:search will have to do.

You mean like this thread Les? Forget who started it...

Stoked CB seems to have gotten something out of his hard work for free and pure love for skateboarding, I'm assuming he now as a well paid job within skating somewhere?

Don't think so voodz, all I remember seeing was a CBI Nike colourway and a Heel Bruise tee.

Fair enough just thinking he up rooted his life to cali, it might of been for that reason, taking all his mags with him then to stop but who knows.

I'm guessing he will keep the blog about still as a resource.

He recently mentioned moving house but I think he went to Oregon. Could be wrong though, don't take my word for it.
