As an aside, has anyone listened to the Nigel Owens episode?
    It's pretty powerful stuff: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08cr6w9

Les, i've knocked in lots of 50's, no reason couldn't knock in a century if you can hit 50's.

Used to work in a snooker club though.

@ Haven, I like some modern stuff by Ludovico Einaudi, Max Richter, Michael Nyman and old stuff by but not limited to Handel, Pachelbel, Motzart, Schubert, Rachmaninof and Dvorak.

    There's no better driving music.

I reckon if I had 3 months and nothing to do but play snooker I could rack up a few centuries. I have probably only hit a few 50s to be honest but that is only playing a couple of times a week and 15 years ago easily. If I played a few games now i'd be in the teens.
I don't think it's that hard to be pretty good, I think it's a training sport rather than a gifted sport. Although to be great you have to have both.

    I do a fair bit.

Every morning I bang on Radio 3 for breakfast.

I go to about one or two classical concerts per month - especially in summer with Proms. I play some piano and generally love everything and anything by Rachmaninov/Chopin/Debussy/Schubert. Not so much into baroque. That being said, JS Bach is a massive thug.

I tend to have it playing in my headphones at work a fair bit too.

Never bring a yank to play snooker.

Cool. So English!! So it's a bit like pool?

    Err, yeah, I guess...

Sorry to gay it up, but I brought a guy to play snooker once for a date. We played for two hours and he only managed to get one ball in (I welcome your puns).

I get easily frustrated with stupidity, and I kept trying to show him that, in its simplest form it's just basic geometry. So I'd demonstrate landing the cue ball on at angle on the left for it to go right, etc. ... really elementary stuff. Not sure what sort of mental deficiencies he may have had, but I wanted to snap the cue over his head as he would keep doing it completely wrong. Like, it'd be a 45 degree angle shot with the pocket on the right side of the red, lined up pretty straightforward and he'd just hit the cue ball on the far left and miss the red entirely. What a fucking idiot.

Definitely not boyfriend material. I can't imagine how awkward things were following that display of fuckwittery.

Unless he want you to stand behind him and hold the cue and get all close and be like "No, like this, I'll show you how to hold it"?

If he can't find the hole on a snooker table I can't imagine he'd have much luck in the bedroom.
