Default 'Where are they Now?' with Sean Smith

I know this got mentioned in the interviews thread but single topic threads are better and I meant to do it yesterday but was off work.

Barcelona is not the best place to live.

It always pissed me off that Sean didn't get the global attention that his skating deserved.
I wish he'd got on Palace or something right at the beginning (I know that probably wouldn't have worked but...)

Yeah he was so ahead of time, at his peak he could've moved to LA and gone far if he got in with the right crowd. Don't think we would've ever really worked on Palace but could've seen him on like DGK or Primitive or something. Can only imagine the level he'd be on if all that shit didn't go down and he carried on progressing into the IG era...

Would be incredible to see him come back with a proper part filmed with Ryan Gray or something

Yeah agree - I only said Palace as an e.g. in the sense that their output/presence would've elevated someone with Sean's skill to where he needed to be.
Video kind of on the way - just has work responsibilities/life now.

yeah his sidewalk section is bonkers. switch flip backtail switch flip is next level. with great style as well.

there's still time for a comeback though. hopefully we get to see a return to form with a little national thing

I remember him saying that he had an offer from blueprint back in the day but turned it down. Wonder how it would have played out if he went down that route?

Always wondered what happened to him, especially after his Motive part. I would love to see a come back.

every time I look at videos like EL or Nine Club, its always sad to see commenters ignore whichever guest that episode has featured, and shout "interview Dave Mayhew" or "do the McLung Brothers"

    that said

    do Simon Evans!

could've easily blown up stateside but don't think he's ever actually been bothered tbh... absolute mk ledge god and probably the most insanely gifted person i've ever seen skate irl

even though he's probs only a few years older than me i used to love going mk and just watching him knock about when i was younger. was sick seeing him skate again at the radlands reunion at pioneer

Glad to hear he’s skating again also, so he’s getting flowed by the National then or what? I appreciate the honesty of that interview I have to say, not many would come out and say that coming back to UK after living in Barcelona skating those spots everyday would make you less hyped on skating.

    surely everyone would say that?

skating perfect street spots every day then coming back to poor weather and rough ground and mostly skateparks would probably suck a bit of hype out of anyone.

    Sean was so sick.

Going Barca life is like trading your soul with the devil. It's so easy to party and the is always someone down to sack off a skate.

Is Matt Mills still in Barca talking to the pigeons at MACBA with an old pirate pistol tucked in his belt boyz in da hood style?
