Default Unit 3Sixty in Stourbridge has closed its doors

Another nail in the coffin for the winter.
Gutted - great park, thriving scene, run by super nice local people.

Pour one out for another fallen indoor skatepark.

Jeez, never even got to go, seems like it was only there 5 mins (time flies when you're old). Looked ace! Real shame. The internet is ruining everything, Skateboarding is no longer sustainable enough to make us a family. Skateboarding will soon just be individuals striving for glory on their own... I guess Nyjah is the proto model.

It’s a real shame. The skatepark had been open for four years, and had done a great job of uniting the smaller scenes of Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Worcestershire and the Black Country into one. Gav and Serena let us do our Battle st the Black Country event at the park whenever we put it to them, and basically let us run with whatever ideas we would come up with. My own personal highlight was the last one in 2017, where we had the biggest turn out and tons of ‘industry folk’ who I had grown up inspired by. Big thanks to Gav, Serena and who worked at the park and here’s to hoping something gets built locally in the not so distant future.

Thanks Ben. Gutted doesn't cover it!

Crowdfunder Link - anything you can give to help save the skatepark would be greatly appreciated.

Here's an article in the local paper on the situation too:

A real shame for the local scene. We've put a huge amount of effort into the park over the years (especially Brewer with the BATB comps)
Wasn't long ago that MP's and various "bods" from sporting associations were there to talk Olympics.

As a sign of support as well as a way to try and raise money for the crowdfunder i’ve organised a ‘skate pub quiz’.

10 rounds of skate quizzery with prizes coming from Palace, NikeSB and more tbc. Entry is a £10 donation per person, and all the cash raised is going to the crowdfund. If anyone is about in the midlands and fancies it the support would be great.

    I have an odd suggestion.

Lately, the performance vehicle sector has seen a notable uptick within both the skateboarding and BMX communities, particularly with the rise of online personalities like Adam LZ. What possible options would there be for expansion in to that area? Notably a space for car meets, perhaps a small working garage, and a parts dealer? Assuming it could run a tidy profit, it might serve as not only a funding crutch for the park, but a route into skateboarding, rollerblading, BMXing et al - and vice-versa. It's also a strong route into government funding through apprenticeships. Ultimately, though, it would come down to ROI and available space - plus the complications with liability insurance.

Speaking of apprenticeships, a teaching apprenticeship could be an option too - holding skateboarding classes etcetera.

To a certain degree, yes. Obviously it's a great deal more prominent in the US, where vehicles are far more accessible, but it's evident here too. There's a fair few car "scenes" around, and a good number of their members have connections to one sport or the other.

Don't do that, you'll never find it again!
