The War of the Thistles 25th and 26th of March 2006
Skateboard Scotland are proud to announce the first ever all-weekend Scottish pro/am skate jam to be split across two of the country‚s finest indoor skate parks. Anyone who experienced last year‚s War of the Roses event in Bolton should know what to expect ˆ two days of solid skating, prize money and product, only this time with a distinctly Scottish twist.
Some dates for your diary...
25th of March, 1pm - 12 midnight
Unit23, Dumbarton
Best trick/run on:
-hubba ledge
-bowl
-tombstone vert corner
-spine ramp
26th of March, 1pm - 10pm
The Factory Skatepark, Dundee
Best trick/run on:
-fun box
-bowl
-spine ramp
(The best trick/run obstacles may change on the day based on the decision of our esteemed MC, Bob Sanderson.)
There are cash prizes for the sponsored riders and skate products aplenty for the amateurs at both events. The rest of you can form an orderly mosh pit for the biggest product toss you‚re likely to see in Scoltand this year...
Negotiations are still underway but we‚re hoping for representation from most of the British pro teams ˆ watch this space for details over the coming weeks. Current confirmed sponsors for the event are listed below, but the list keeps growing so keep your eyes peeled as this is bound to grow:
Snickers
DB Broardstore
Focus
BlackMark
East
Cliché
Globe
Blueprint
Medic
Death
If you are currently not down as a sponsor and wish to sponsor this event please get in touch with me using the below contact details. I have also attached a copy of the poster promoting the event. A couple of the sponsors logos might not print too well (as we are still waiting for high quality JPEGs from them) but other than that they are all good. It would be great to get copies of this up all over the country and all around websites too. So please spread the word as best you can. If you are thinking twice about treking to Scotland to this event just remember how many nice concrete parks we have in Scotland now (I should work for Visit Scotland or something). Hope to see you all at the Event.
Peace
Ali
