OMG that's wicked!
Looks like he's skating a Dave North special.
I think that was just before the advent of Dave Concave...Originally Posted by gordon bennett

Good boards. He still makes a steeper than average steeper concave and he's developed this crazy staining technique - leopard skin and camouflage prints dyed into the wood. I think you can get them in the UK through SS20.
Sorry to bring up an old thread. However, I cam across an old blue Free Former that has the name COFFEY hand inscribed/carved under it. Any chance this could have belonged to the same. Sorry, I'm not a skater myself. Just came across this thread while searching online. Thanks.
Guess they won't let me post a link...IMG_3127.jpgIMG_3124.jpgIMG_3122.jpg
nah that's unlikely to be related to the guy above as it's from the mid 70's.
seems highly unlikely.
Why does that make it unlikely?
Because the Coffey in question here wasn't particularly famous outside of his local scene/Ireland really.
It says that he's 29 in the text from the RAD interview which, at a rough guess, is probably from around 1988, so he is old enough to have had an original era plastic board but without knowing where the seller etc is based is completely impossible to say either way really.
Oh, I must not have explained properly. I own the board. I'm not looking to purchase it. Just trying to learn a little about it before I sell it. Figured I'd check and see if anyone had any input on the name.
You guys are forgetting Keith Walsh. One of the emerald isle's finest skaters
