Let's be honest though, they are all shit in the UK....
Ipswich(bendcrete) is a shit load better than Lancaster(uniform)...

Before anyone jumps down my throat saying I'm using single examples there's not a lot to go on for Uniform now is there....

I'd say that I've skated a few bendcrete parks and while they don't come close to "good" they are better than MOST of the UK parks I've been to.

I quite like Leighton Buzzard.. that's by elibe I think and it's fibreglass which I reckon gets a bad press but isn't bad.

That's no reason to put up with 'em though. We all know that there are better builders about, even if not uk based. We should be pushing for them, and only accepting the likes of bendcrete if there is no other choice.

Lobsterstag, I am in touch with your council who came to me through another channel.

    For the record:

    http://www.ptrskate.com
    http://www.dreamlandskateparks.com
    http://www.grindline.com

all are keen to build over here (Europe) and will blow the pants off anything and everything in these isles; and do so for less money; and they'll show you how to skate it to. Mark Scott was, after all, the first animal to do the concrete loop.

    Listen to Andy everyone!

I would still worry about most parks though. The council builds a park and therefore bans skateboarding. I'm a street skater, I don't want to skate a traditional park. "REAL" street is needed in council parks too. Not that I'd stop skating street but if I'd got kicked off 10 times in one day I'd like to think the free facility was for me too and not just a bunch of tranny loving bastards...

we told the powers that be, build a skate park that is good and it will be skated, but if you are building a skate park to stop street skating, then don't! it's something that will always happen, that is what true skateboarding really is! they seemed to understand.

    "Tranny loving bastard" indeed!
"The thing you gotta understand is that pushing sucks!" (some bloke off "Northwest" I think)

Anyhow, these guys seem to be doing ok, be interested to see how it turns out.

If you can get Dreamland or Grindline, DO IT!
If not the dudes who build all the new scotish shit are a good second pick, not sure of the company's name, I'm sure Fife or A'deen know.
Bendcrete and Uniform suffer from the same lack of imagination.
Anyone who's skated the other Lancaster park will tell you it's the biggest lack of imagination ever. Two bowls, same radius, same tranny, same depth. What's the point of building it by hand when you're gonna make it look pre-cast? No wonder you've never heard of it.

Is that the one at Ryelands?
Andy in Blue Tubes told me about it, but said he didn't know who'd designed it or anything about it.

I think they were actually built by duracrete, at least the transitions were sprayed by them, no precast shite there ! :P

Yeah, that one. I'm guessing it's uniform just because they built two nearby and the construction looks the same as D.A's bowl, maybe i'm wrong.

those ryelands bowls are bollocks. No pun intended. They're surrounded by council rednecks of the first water for a start, and they're kinked to fuck. I could go on, but I'd rather not waste my breath.

They were apparently nothing to do with the council - who, let's face it are fairly on the ball. It was some third party fundraisers who stepped in and got some euro grant, and took their cut. Duracrete got paid handsomely for yet another piss-take park, the locals get something new to shit in, and everyone's happy

Apart from skateboarders, who get fucked over once again.
