They were apparently nothing to do with the council - who, let's face it are fairly on the ball. It was some third party fundraisers who stepped in and got some euro grant, and took their cut. Duracrete got paid handsomely for yet another piss-take park, the locals get something new to shit in, and everyone's happy

Apart from skateboarders, who get fucked over once again.
Figures. Ryelands is scum central in lancaster, it seemed a funny place to build a bowl.

I hope the UKSA can grow to prevent this shit happening.

On the plus side, Clitheroe progressing nicely. Builders selected, final construction drawings being done, start dates being chosen...a few last minute issues to iron out, but its getting there.

Most of these manufacturers who supposedly specialise in skatepark construction (Bendcrete) are no better than the average construction company (Clachan).

In fact most of the concrete spraying is sub-contracted out to by these companies to Durcrete anyway, Perth was built by Clachan but the concrete was sprayed by Duracrete.

I believe that bad parks are the way they are because of bad design, bad planning and bad specification, the construction companies are too often made scapegoats when they have actually done exactly what was layed on the table for them.
